Accessible Touch – Developing an ATM touchscreen solution for everyone.
Design for Good
Touchscreens require special consideration as to how they can be used by blind and partially sighted people. Greater adoption of touchscreens in consumer devices means greater acceptance of accessible interaction patterns. But there are differences between consumer devices and self service devices. The User Centered Design Group at NCR sought to develop a touchscreen ATM that could be used by everyone by building accessibility into the solution at a fundamental level. Please read document via the drop box url in the web links box- "Accessible Touch - Developing an ATM touchscreen solution for everyone" which explains in detail the development research and work with the RNIB.
